Our Vision: "Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams."

Stay Safe!

As many of our club members are being evacuated in Northern California because of the recent fires, we wish them and their families good health and safety. We send our thanks to the first responders for putting their lives on the line to save our homes, businesses, and communities.

As you know, Soroptimists are generous, caring people. It is our nature to want to help when we see people suffering or those in need. With that in mind, we encourage our clubs to donate to local organizations that serve women and girls. We know that women and girls are always more vulnerable during and after disasters. Domestic violence shelters, for instance, are often in great need post-disasters, and shelters may be damaged or overwhelmed by new demand.

If you wish to donate to such organizations, SIA Program Director Jackie Shrauger can help you ensure that funds will be going to an above-board organization capable of helping local women and girls in an expedient and meaningful way. Feel free to reach out to her at jaclyn@soropitmist.org.

Thanks Gov. Kris, good advice and guidance.

I know in Vacaville we gave to fire victims and our LYD fund. I do understand your point with being careful where we send our donations. regards, Sec. Joy Swank
