Our Vision: "Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams."

Thankful

Why I Love November
There’s something special about November. It isn’t yet the rush of the holidays, the air is crisp, and we have room to slow down and give thanks for the family and friends who make our lives richer. This November, I’m counting my blessings, and many of them are Soroptimist blessings.

Thankful to serve
First, I’m grateful to be your Governor. For me, the role means helping move our organization forward and celebrating the amazing work happening in our 44 clubs across five districts. It also means I get to work alongside eight remarkably dedicated women on the Founder Region Board.
I am thankful for all of the members who stepped up to chair region committees and serve on committees. And, to all of you who serve or are considering stepping up to leadership roles in our club, on the Founder Region board, and on the Fellowship Board.
Soroptimist has also widened my circle of friends to include people I might never have met otherwise. These friendships are one of the unexpected gifts of this work.

Thankful for connection
I’m grateful for the chance to connect with so many of you at our District Meetings this fall. Our Directors led an informative workshop on AI, which offered practical ideas we can all put to use. If you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry: the resources are posted on the Founder Region website under District Meetings.

We’ve also updated the Leadership Handbook to reflect best practices for using AI. It now includes the Local to Global infographic too, so be sure to take a look.

Thankful for our programs, and the lives they change.

Most of all, I’m thankful for what our programs make possible.
  • Live Your Dream: Our clubs have embraced this program more than ever. In the 2025–2026 club year, we honored 128 women and awarded over $274,000 to help them build better lives for themselves and their families.
  • Dream It, Be It: This program keeps gaining momentum. Last club year, we served more than 400 girls and helped them see what their futures can hold.
  • Big Goal Accelerator: You continue to take on these projects with energy and creativity. I hope the Directors’ AI suggestions for refining your projects help you reach even more women and girls this year.

Behind every one of those numbers is a woman or girl whose path just got a little brighter, and a Soroptimist who made it happen.

From my heart to yours
As you gather around your tables this month, I hope you’ll take a moment to be proud of what you do. Thank you for your time, your generosity, and your belief in what women and girls can achieve. I’m thankful for each of you.

Be sure and read the November newsletter. It will be full of information and has replaced our “November Mailing”.

With gratitude,
