Our Vision: "Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams."

Goals

The new Soroptimist 2025-2026 club year is well under way. Time to plan for Live Your Dream Awards, Violet Richardson Awards, Dream It Be It projects, Big Goal Accelerator projects, club giving, District Meetings in October, Region Conference in May, SIA Convention in July 2026 and who knows what else. There are a lot of things to think about and to do, so many goals to work for. More information on all of these things will be in the monthly newsletter, on the Founder Region website, and on the SIA website.

Right now, I want you to take a deep breath. Nothing is ever perfect. Perfection is overrated. The unexpected always happens and there are always mistakes and challenges. The point is that you are trying. The women and girls we strive to help achieve economic empowerment will remember that we tried. Even if the result is not all that we might have wished we tried.  The new Soroptimist member will remember that you spoke kindly to her at a club meeting and included her in the club’s activities. No one other than you will notice that the fundraiser did not go exactly as planned.

The point is to never stop trying, never stop reaching out.  As someone once said, shoot for the stars and miss, but you might just hit the moon. The only wrong thing is not to try.

Remember, you are not in this alone. You individually have your club members, the club has its district, the district has Founder Region. We are all here together working toward the Soroptimist mission.

Keep going, you are doing great. I will see you soon.

This is a very encouraging and timely blog issue. Encouraging because we all try so hard but maybe don't hit that mark that we set for ourselves. Encouraging because we need to hear these positive messages as we approach our busy seasons. Thank you governor Elise

Your message is timely and appreciated, Governor Elise! Clubs that were dormant during the summer are getting ready to start their new club year with a new board. As Club President, it is helpful to be reminded that we are not alone; there are many others who surround us and are willing to help. All of us have great ideas and good intentions. If we try something and it doesn’t yield the outcome we wanted, we try a different approach, remembering to celebrate successes big and small! Never give up. Keep trying!
